Faves of TwentyEleven Book Awards: The Characters

Now, we're on Day 2. This time awards are given to those characters we loved.

Faves of TwentyEleven Book Awards:
created by Inkcrush

1. Favorite female main character: Clara Gardner from the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand

Clara is my fave this year because she's the girl who had shown the most strength. She's far from perfect. She's flawed and real, that's why I think I connected with her the most.

2. Favorite male main character: Mr. Darcy from the Pride and Prejudice

I imagine him saying this to me: "You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on this subject for ever."

To which I'll reply: "I'll never dare to refuse you, Mr. Darcy. You are the love of my life and I will be most happy to spend my entire life with you."

Then we'll kiss. Le sigh. But kidding aside, Mr. Darcy is my fave male character this year because he started out as a pompous, prideful man but because of her love for Elizabeth he learned to change his ways. Growth, the special formula for getting this coveted Favorite character award.

Honorable mention on this award: Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss

3. Best couple: Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

As much as I want to give this award to my other fave couples, I think Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy deserved this more.

4. Who I so want to be best friends with: Llona Reese from Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan

Fiercely protective to those she loves, who wouldn't want to be friends with Llona?

5. New literary crush: Christian Knight from Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan

Describe as having gorgeous eyes, I could get lost in his eyes forever.

6. Best and Baddest villain: Niccolo Machiavelli from The Secret of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott

What makes a villain, a VILLAIN? Ask Niccolo Machiavelli and don't forget to tell him I sent you because he might kill you on the spot.

7. Best character twist: Evanjelin from Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta

Evanjalin, Evanjalin. You're true identity has completely taken me by surprised. I was completely blind-sided.

8. Best kick-arse female: Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bones by Laini Taylor

If her blue hair doesn't intimidate you, then her hamsas will.

9. Best kick-arse male: Finnikin from Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta

His triumphs after losing everything is just inspirational. This guy is the man!

10. Broke your heart the most: Adam Wilde from Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Every time he cries, I feel like my heart is being broken into pieces. So I'm very glad that he found his happily ever after.

11. Favorite pet/animal character award: Mrs.O'leary from The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan

Mrs. O'leary is Percy's pet Hellhound. But don't go approaching any other Hellhound because Mrs. O'leary is  I think the only one that's tame.

12. Best YA parents award: Clara's parents from Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand

Although a lot of secret has been kept, Clara's parents especially her mom, Maggie is always present and always there to support her and her brother, Jeffrey.

13. Favorite sibling relationship: Georgia and Shaun Mason from the Newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant

I have a feeling that there's more to this two than sibling affection. But let's not dwell on that.

14. Favorite best friends/friendship award: The Black Dagger Brotherhood from The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward

They're loyal and they have each other's back. All the time.

15. Best character name: Rhine Ellery from Wither by Lauren DeStefano

Rhine, such a lovely name!

16. Worst character name: Katsa from Graceling by Kristin Cashore.

How I love Graceling. But Katsa's name? Not so much.

Fun fact: I just finished The Hunger Games series before I read Graceling. So I keep calling Katsa, Katniss. :)

Bonus:
17. Best love triangle: Christian x Clara x Tucker from the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand

Love triangle is I think one of the most interesting aspect of a book especially if it's splendidly done. Like the case in the Unearthly series where I'm Christian and Tucker are both good choices. But for now I'm on Team Tucker.

  13. Thanks for dropping by my blog earlier; I'm a new follower. :)

I still need to read so many of these! Mrs. O'leary from Percy Jackson is so awesome. <3 I really loved the Son of Neptune.

    And I didn't like Katsa's name much either. It's rather odd-sounding.

Just like the saying, "So many books, so little time", you read and read but there'd still be books out there waiting to be discovered. :)

    Thanks for visiting!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I really love Riordan's books and SoN is one of my faves. And yeah, the name of Katsa is not really appealing. Good thing, she's a kickass. :)
